Features and Functions
Setting goals helps clients to focus and work on achieving changes. Elevate makes it easy and intuitive to enter and manage goals. To add a goal tap on the plus icon at the bottom corner of the screen. Removing a goal is just as simple as swiping the goal to the left or right. And editing a goal is done by tapping on the goal. Goals are meant to change with time and we've made it easy to change them.
Suicide Thought Management
Built into Elevate is the safety plan. Clients can work with their therapists to enter the safety plan. The safety plan is then use to help manage suicidal thoughts in a step-wise process. Whenever the client uses the client uses the suicide thought management function Elevate records the process and keep a record for both client and therapist to review later. Of course clients can always delete any of the records that they wish at any time.
Urge management is based on the RESISTT (Reframe, mindfully Engage in an activity, do something for Someone else, Intense sensations, Shut it out, think neutral Thoughts, Take a break) method. Elevate will walk the client through the process to assist in reducing his/her urge.
Daily Diary Card
Elevate's diary card is unlike any you've seen. It is comprehensive, dynamic and easy to use. The diary card support all kinds of urges, asking clients to provide as much detail as possible about an urge. Therapists can customize a diary to fit the profile of a client through the diary card profile. In this way each client can have a custom diary card. Both client and therapist can customize the diary card but a client cannot remove a customization item created by the therapist.
Behavior Chain Analysis
Behavior chain analysis is the bread and butter of DBT. For this reason our implementation of behavior chain analysis follows closely to the outline of the DBT workbook. We've made it even more interactive by allowing therapists to review each link and give constructive comments in each link for clients to review. Links within the chain can be rearrange as needed simply by dragging it up or down the chain.
Elevate comes with 3 pre-loaded mind exercises. Client and therapist can add or remove any mindfulness exercises they wish. A timer is provided to help keep track of mindfulness practice time. A record of mindfulness practices is kept for both client and therapist to review with feedback after each practice.
Judgemental thoughts are recorded and analyzed. The situation, associated emotions and outcome of the judgemental thought are entered and a non-judgemental thought is then required by the client.
Client can analyze an emotion through our emotion analysis tool. It comes with a list of emotions to help clients find the right word for an emotion. The tool asks for details surrounding an emotion and the consequences of associated with that emotion.
Coping behavior can be both healthy and destructive. An analysis of coping behaviors helps to evaluate a problematic behavior. A scoring system is employed to quantify the analysis.
Some times a general diary is needed and Elevate provides this functionality. Clients can keep diary notes of whatever s/he wishes.
Homework assignments is a part of psychotherapy. Therapists can assign homework to clients through their Elevate Therapist app and it will appear on the clients app. Associated with all assignments are assign and due dates, comments by clients and therapists and the homework status (Complete, Incomplete, Did Not Do).
Elevate will give a graphical summary of how often a client fill out his/her diary cards and urges that were reported in the diary cards. Graphical representations of urges, emotion and money spent from those urges are presented for clients and therapist to review. These graphs should give an indication of the effectiveness of therapy and assist in any discussion about urges.
Export to PDF
All journals can be exported to PDF. In compliance with HIPPA Elevate places a user and an owner password on the exported PDF. These password can be set in the Settings within the app.
Sync Data To Cloud Servers
We've created eCare as a cloud service to facilitate the communication between clients and therapists, and to provide a mean for our app users to save and store their private data. With our eCare cloud service you don't have to worry about loosing any data within our apps. All data are sync automatically with our servers. Should you loose your device or moved to another device you can get all your data restored to what it was previously. Clients have the option of sharing their data with any number of therapists they wish by giving them permission to view their data through eCare. Granting permission is performed through Settings -> Permissions. You can search for your therapist by email address or name. Once permission is granted your therapist will be able to view your app's data, provide feedback, assign homework, etc. through his/her Elevate Therapist app. You may revoke the permission at any time.
All data from our app users are private. They are owned by our users. We are only custodians of the data. And in that role we make sure our users' data are safe and secure. All data stored on our servers are encrypted the second they arrive at our servers. We do not disseminate any piece of data from our users to anyone without permission from our users. Our users have complete control over their data. If clients give permission for therapists to view their clinical data then our server will send it to those therapists only. We do not permit clients to share data with one another.
We take every precautions to keep our users' data private. This is illustrated in our app when users export their data to PDF, a password is required to open the PDF file, and when clients grant therapists permission to view their data. Also, the database employed by our apps is encrypted on the user's device. Nothing is exposed to prying eyes.
Security in our apps begin with the password to the app. To ensure all data in our apps are secure we encrypt the entire database of the app. This is a one way encryption. There is no way of decrypting the database without the password and no way of retrieving the data if you forgot your password. We implemented this on purpose to ensure that there is no possible way of hacking the database that contain your personal information.
To prevent any possible attempt to retrieve data through our apps we've employed SSL throughout the communication line between our apps and our eCare cloud servers. SSL is the industry standard protocol used by companies that does business over the internet, including banks. Once your data arrived at our eCare servers it is immediately encrypted before storing on our servers. Our eCare servers are protected and constantly monitored by our service provider. Furthermore all our servers are protected by firewalls. With several layers of security in place you can be sure that your data is secure in our apps and on our servers.
